Investors showing interest in Pakistan housing sector

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar Monday said local and foreign investors were showing interest in housing sector.

“The government has made housing sector attractive for the local as well as for foreign investors,” the Minister said while presiding a meeting of the heads of the attached organizations of the Ministry to review the pace of the ongoing development activities under the Prime Minister Housing programme.

He said that boosting of housing sector would bring economic stability and help generate employment.

Rehmatullah Kakar said that housing activity was linked with the development of about 47 construction industries.

He said that under the Prime Minister’s Housing Programme one million housing units would be constructed for government employees, media persons and general public at affordable cost.

“Stringent measures have been taken to check the quality of construction material and to bring it at par with the international standard,” he added.
